Hand-dyed silk gauze (3mm), silk habotai (8mm), thai silk and metallic gauze were framed with whisps of fine australian merino wool roving. Decorative fibers (silk, ribbon and mohair locks) were added to this gentle piece.

As I gently nuno-felted and shaped this scarf, the fine merino fibers migrated through the fabrics. As the wool felted, it shrank, pulling the fabrics with it and causing the incredible ruffles.

Great care was taken in the creation of this ‘Love in the Mist' hand-dyed nuno-felted scarf. Please treat gently. Only wash by hand in cold water and lay flat to dry. Some color loss is normal. Never tumble!! You may use a steam iron.
